Both locations sit within a short walk of the Ballarat Railway Station, making them easy stops for visitors arriving from Melbourne.

City records show 4,800 people entered licensed premises in the central business district between 8pm and midnight on July 11 last year, a figure local operators expect to exceed this weekend.

Entry fees at most Sturt Street bars remain at $10 to $20 for live acts, with many offering $8 house beers until 10pm.
