Ballarat Sports Venues and Infrastructure Support Weekend Results

Ballarat teams recorded wins and competitive finishes across basketball, soccer and athletics on the weekend, with all events held at council-maintained venues.

The results arrive as Ballarat prepares for the next round of state league fixtures and school holiday programs that begin July 13.

Matches at the Ballarat Sports and Events Centre on Creswick Road drew the largest crowds, while junior soccer fixtures ran at the Wendouree Sports Complex on Howitt Street. The Ballarat Regional Sports Centre in the Brown Hill neighbourhood also staged netball games on its four indoor courts.

Venues and programs in use

The Wendouree facility runs the weekly Ballarat Junior Soccer League, which fields 42 teams this season. The Sports and Events Centre hosts the Ballarat Basketball Association night competition that starts at 6 pm on Saturdays. Both sites sit within 4 km of the city centre and share the same booking system managed by the City of Ballarat.

Usage data released by the council shows the three venues recorded 1840 participants and spectators between Friday evening and Sunday afternoon. The figure is 12 percent higher than the same weekend in 2025, following completion of lighting upgrades at Wendouree in April this year.
